Haley and I were chatting at a party, and she mentioned off-hand that she was doing a live session recording the following week. The conversation quickly turned into a discussion of recording it. Next thing I knew I was driving out to Maple Ridge to shoot.
It was excellent getting to work so quickly and intuitively. My only goal was to capture the musicians playing their instruments. I wanted to be objective and simple to hopefully get the music to shine through. But as always, I could help playing around a little bit.
The film was shot at Protection Island, and home studio run by Jonathan Anderson
Jon, David Vertesi, and Benjamin Millman, were accompanying Haley on Guitar, Guitar, and Wurlitzer (respectively)
